Ape Americans

The US bloody navy is in Wan Chai and the whole district has turned into some type of zoo. Here are a few snippets of information that connects the age old history of Wan Chai and the new moronic inhabitants.

• "Part of Lockhart Road near its western end is considered as a red light distric with many bars, pubs and nightclubs. When the navy of the United States visits Hong Kong, the crews land near Wan Chai and congregate in the area around Lockhart Road" (Source)

• "Wanchai is usually the landing spot of battleships and the most popular nightlife area for military and navy." (Source)

I went for dinner with friends and we could not go to any of the normal bars, or even walk anywhere in the streets without being surrounded by backwards cap wearing, baggy jean toting idiots with the most stupid walks/'gangsta' struts I have ever seen. Sitting where we were for dinner we could see all of them falling about the streets, it was like watching animals in a zoo.

I do accept that their being in Wan Chai is probably a good thing for the area financially, and that Wan Chai is a port and has a history of entertaining the troops. But its the same problem here as with everything that America is involved in. They don't expect to have to change to their surroundings, their surroundings are expected to change for them. All i'm annoyed about is that Wan Chai is a different town tonight than it is normally.
